Boom Boom Room

If you are looking for a fantastic evening out of drinking, great music and dancing in San Francisco, look no further than The Boom Boom Room.  The description from the website offers a very accurate description: "Located in the heart of San Francisco's old Fillmore district, the Club is a sultry, down-home Juke Joint providing cocktails, dancing live Blues, Boogie, Groove & Soul music six nights a week. If you love music and boogying, you've gotta come party with us. The Boom Boom Room is the hippest, low-light, straight-up funky club on the West coast!”

This is a pillar of any tour of the city, as it offers a very unique experience. Not only is the Fillmore district lively with plenty of restaurants, like Dosa, bars like Solstice and music venues, it is also a little off the commercial tour route and does not see a large number of tourists. Probably the most consistent music venue in the city, the Boom Boom Room caters to fans of Blues, Boogie, Soul, Groove & Funk. There is almost always a cover, as the bands are top notch, even though you may not have heard of them. If you question whether to enter or not, stand outside and give a listen- you will be drawn inside. If you happen to be in the area before a show at The Fillmore, stop in for a drink (no cover) and sometimes you will even be treated to some of the night's musicians playing some warm up sets.

Serving everything from a large selection of beer on tap to sangria and the popular Firefly sweet tea vodka, you are assured of having your inhibitions thrown out the window and on your way to dancing the night away on the checkerboard dance floor just feet from the stage.

Have a look at some of the links to more information on The Boom Boom Room, including upcoming musicians on the Music Calendar, and some classic pictures featuring some of the world famous musicians who have played the venue, such as Elvis Costello, in Classic Pictures from the Boom Boom Room Gallery. And to get a 360 degree view of The Boom Boom Room, well, the website provides that too.
