This year, the San Francisco International Latino Film Festival boasts a total of 35 films from 12 countries, screening at venues in San Francisco, Berkeley, Marin, and San Jose. The organizers arrived at a program divided fairly evenly between documentaries and narrative features.

In San Francisco, it is difficult to walk in any neighborhood and not find a bar dedicated to wine.While Tequila is also a coveted spirit and represented in a few of the city´s restaurants, such as Tommy's, who have a fine selection, there are not many events offering tastings of a great variety of Tequilas.
Afro-Peruvian vocalist Susana Baca, recently named Minister of Culture, will be promoting her latest album Afrodiaspora as part of Instituto Familiar de la Raza’s Hope and Healing Concert Series on August 25 at 7:30 p.m. at the Herbst Theater.
Admittedly, San Francisco is not known for balmy weather in the summer. There are occasional warm days from June to August, but it is in September and October that our city really warms up. When the hot days come, consider yourself prepared and head to Gelateria Naia in North Beach. Their hand-crafted gelato is the perfect antidote to hot weather.
