Up Your Alley
This weekend in San Francisco offers two events at opposite sides of the spectrum for this diverse city. Both involve scantily clad men and women, a level of craziness, and they promise to slow traffic in the area. Get ready for the San Francisco Marathon and Up Your Alley.
The first is for the early riser, fitness-oriented crowd and involves a variety of running options. Yes, it is the San Francisco Marathon which takes place on Sunday, July 25 and offers six different events, from a Munchkin Kids Run to a full 26.2 mile Full Marathon; those who have not passed out will get to run by the iconic sites of San Francisco, including running the roadbed of the Golden Gate Bridge.
The second event starts at 11am on Sunday the 25th and is the culmination of SF Leather Week and a prelude to September’s Folsom Street Fair; it is called Up Your Alley. The Street Fair will take place on Dore Alley between Folsom and Howard Streets, as well as the adjoining block of Folsom Street between 9th and Juniper Streets. This promises to be a lively event featuring leather, nudity and of course plenty of after parties that will extend through the evening and into the following morning. Additional information is available at the website for the Folsom Street Fair.
Grab your running shoes and your leather whip and get a dose of San Francisco craziness!
