St. Lucia

St. Lucia

The theme of this year's Swedish Christmas Fair is the Swedish royal family. Each year, the Swedish Women's Educational Association holds a traditional Christmas fair, and it will be held this year at St. Mary's Cathedral.  There will be a gingerbread house competition and silent auction, in addition to several Lucia pageants and traditional Swedish Christmas goodies.

At the Swedish Christmas Fair, you have a unique opportunity to fill stockings with traditional crafts, imported gifts and delicacies from Scandinavia. Enjoy Swedish folk music and dancing and experience firsthand traditional Swedish costumes. Let your children meet the Swedish Santa and take them fishing for surprise goodies at the popular Fiskdammen (fish pond). There will also be Pepparkakslandet, where children can decorate their own gingerbread figures. The traditional Glögg (mulled wine) is sure to bring Holiday cheer, especially when paired with culinary delights like the popular open-faced shrimp sandwiches, meatballs, waffles with strawberry jam, and cinnamon rolls.

With her crown of candles, let Santa Lucia and her pageant herald the season.
