Tartine Bakery
Tartine Bakery in the Mission always has a long line snaking out the door, and for good reason: the baked goods and coffee here are without comparison. Not only is the food great and the prices reasonable, but Tartine has an ideal location, right on the corner of Guerrero and 18th St., and just a hop, skip and a jump from Dolores Park. Grab a warm muffin at Tartine and stake out a spot on the grass at Dolores for some great people watching and a great, lazy Sunday afternoon.
Although there are a lot of places to enjoy a cofee or simple meal in the Mission, Morning Due Cafe stands out for its decor, ambience, and good, simple meals. And even though I've eaten here but have never stopped in for a coffee, I am assured that the coffee is excellent, too.
