Catfish

Catfish

With the upcoming premiere of "The Social Network", directed by David Fincher (about the beginnings of Facebook, opening October 1st), "Catfish" is without a doubt a good warmup for the bigger budget Facebook movie. It's one of those small budget productions that ends up making its way to the big screen, competes with blockbuster movies, and ends up turning a decent profit for its producers.

In this documentary-style feature, we see that on Facebook, like any other corner of the internet, not everything that glitters is gold. A couple of New York filmmakers, Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman, decided to start recording Nev Schulman (brother of Ariel), and the story leads to the three friends on a journey to a tiny town in Michigan.  There they hope to find Megan, an attractive girl who Nev has met on Facebook.  We won't reveal much more, but suffice it to say, the ending is a bit of a surprise.

Of course, you can become a fan of "Catfish" on Facebook.

The "Catfish" trailer should also get you prepared for the movie.
