DJ Beto
This coming Wednesday March 3rd, will be a night of live music, drinking and dancing in the beautiful lounge at the new Yoshi's San Francisco. Globalistic, Yoshi's SF’s new weekly live music series, will host Mucho Axe, among the best in local world music, and DJ Beto, compiler of the Panama! and Colombia! series for Soundway Records UK, which were recently featured on NPR and PRI the world. Mucho Axe plays laid back "South American World Grooves" - perfect for a lounge - while Beto will be playing classic cumbia, boogaloo, latin jazz and tropical funk on rare vinyl records collected in Panama, Colombia and Venezuela.
The Surfrider Foundation's San Francisco Chapter will have an outreach table at the party, as speakers from green orgs and humanitarian NGOs educating awareness of Global responsibilities are a part of the Globalistic experience. Also, there will be drink specials on Leblon Caparinia, Don Q Cuba Libre and Fat Tire!! Good times.
Reggae, Afrobeat, Afro-Brazilian, World Jazz and Latin-themed parties alternate each week at Globalistic, which has featured Manicato, the well loved Local Latin and funk band, as well as the monthly “Bahia” nights which feature Afro-Brazilian music and culture. Yoshi's, which features excellent food as well as a world class venue for live Jazz, is located in the heart of the Fillmore district at 1330 Fillmore street. Come out and dance to the music of Mucho Axe and DJ Beto next wednesday night!
