Gotan Project
Gotan Project is back in San Francisco on October 3rd, touring in support of their new album, "Gotan Project 3.0", and it should be a concert not to miss. I had the opportunity to see Gotan Project live a couple of years ago at The Warfield Theater, and while I was not sure what to expect from a show featuring DJs, I was very impressed by the show.
At that last show, the DJs were of course present; however, with the incorporation of violinists, piano players and many other top musicians, Gotan Project produced a phenomenal show that combined many types of music from different parts of the world. Some of their more famous compilations incorporate the sultry sounds of tango with electronic sounds. If you are not familiar with them by name, it is very likely that you have heard some of their songs such as "Santa Maria (Del Buen Ayre)", used in many a TV commercial.
For ticket information visit The Warfield Theater website or head to the box office to avoid the Live Nation/Ticketmaster fees.
And for some more information about the group I will defer to the description on the official Gotan Project site.
