There are many ways to celebrate Cinco de Mayo, and here is a great one: Julieta Venegas in concert at the Fox Theater in Oakland. The show starts at 8:00pm, and opening for Julieta is Ceci Bastida. Try to make this one: Julieta Venegas doesn't often make it to the Bay Area.

Not only a singer, Julieta Venegas is an accordianist, keyboardist and guitar player. This multi-talented singer, born in Long Beach and raised in Tijuana, has just released her fourth album, "Otra Cosa". If you're not familiar with her sound, her hit from 2006, "Eres Para Mi", is a good introduction (and a cool video, too). Expect Julieta to sing hits from the new album along with her previous three.  

Tickets are still available on Craigslist and to the very resourceful. Don't miss this great Cinco de Mayo show!
