Looking for fun activities to do with Dad this Father's Day weekend? If he's a fan of old-school soul music, he'll love seeing Lalah Hathaway, daughter of R&B legend Donny Hathaway, live at Yoshi's SF from Friday, June 18th to Sunday, June 20th.
Lalah Hathaway comes from soul music royalty, having grown up learning from one of the best, her father Donny Hathaway. He is perhaps best known for the duet "The Closer I get to You" with Roberta Flack. Not content to simply be known as the daughter of Donny, Lalah has established impressive credentials of her own. She's recorded five albums, the last of which, "Self Portrait", came out in 2008; she reached #1 with her tribute to Luther Vandross, "Forever, For Always, For Love". Her voice is as smooth as silk, and the six concerts this weekend promise to be good. For those with families, there will be a special Sunday matinee show at 5pm (kids get in for $5).
