Herradura Tequila

Herradura Tequila

San Francisco is blessed with hundreds of options for Mexican food and hundreds of bars with bartenders who work hard and aare ble to make a fine margarita. However, for those tequila aficionados there is one place that stands apart: Tommy’s Mexican Restaurant. Having spent a couple of years living in the Richmond district of San Francisco, I know it can seem far removed from city life and at times a little dreary. My favorite bar was Tommy’s Mexican restaurant, which we referred to as home of the $50 burrito. Not because the food was expensive, but more a reference to the bar tab for tequila and margaritas that would accompany the cost of food.

Hidden away in the Mission District, in the area with the streets named for states, lies one of the most perfect coffee shops in the city, Coffee Bar. The reason that it is perfect has a lot to do with the fact that they not only serve excellent coffee, but also adult beverages as well as lunch and dinner.

Santacon

Santacon

Santa Claus will be coming to San Francisco this Saturday, December 12th.  Many of them, actually.  Santacon, begun in San Francisco in 1994, is essentially a pub crawl in red and white, with hordes of fun seekers dressed in their best Santa Claus gear roaming from one bar to another.

The event itself is very loosely organized; there are Santacons held in cities big and small all over the country, and though the dates vary, most Santacons will take place on 12/12.
