Located in the heart of the Financial District, Rickhouse is a new addition to the city's bar scene, having opened only in 2009. The bar is known for quality, original cocktails. This is a good bar to visit if you like trying new things and you like your drinks to be delicious. Another bar to compare it to is Elixir, a similarly dimly-lit, history-oriented bar that focuses on both classics and new cocktail creations. If you're downtown on a Friday night, you've got to stop by Rickhouse.

Bean There Cafe, in the Lower Haight just a stone's throw from Duboce Park, offers a large, well-lit, comfortable space in which to enjoy a hot cup of coffee and a pastry. The service is friendly and attentive, the prices reasonable, and the outside eating area feels like you're worlds away from the neighborhood.
