Bar Bambino
A quick one block walk from the 16th street BART station in the Mission lies a cozy cafe and wine bar that features excellent small plates and a variety of Italian wine options. Bar Bambino is a retreat from the hustle and bustle of the colorful 16th street and Mission street intersection.
The Italian-focused wine list offers over 160 bottles of wine as well as 35 options served by the glass. If the wine was not your reason for a visit or you are looking to continue on to lunch or dinner, there is an excellent selection of small plates from a wonderful selection of prosciutto, cheeses, fondue, or excellent deserts. This is most definitely a place to sample the multitude of flavors with friends.
Bar Bambino is complete with a very knowledgeable staff, both about the wine and the food. It is very popular in the evenings and reservations or a significant amount of patience is required, as the locale is cozy. Small tables can be reserved by phone or through OpenTable,or you could try your luck at the bar or one of the community tables with open seating.
