Cafe Prague
If you work in the Financial District and want a bar where you can enjoy a great beer just steps from the office, look no further than Cafe Prague. It's like stepping from the hectic streets of downtown San Francisco straight into the Czech Republic.
Cafe Prague is located on a quiet side-street between Battery and Sansome Streets, near Punch Line Comedy Club. Perhaps due to its hidden location, the bar never gets too crowded. This is not a place where you have to jostle your way to the bar in the hopes of catching the bartender's attention (think Rickhouse, one of our favorites). The atmosphere at Cafe Prague is quiet and the bartenders are friendly—the ones we've met have all been Czech—and the beer is yummy; I recommend the Krusovice.
Food is also served, though it is not nearly as good as the beer. And bring cash, as Cafe Prague doesn't accept credit cards.
