In the mornings, it often seems like the only breakfast option in the downtown area is one of the many Starbucks, often located just one block away from each other. While not as big of a chain as Starbucks, Specialty's Cafe&Bakery is a San Francisco-based chain with a few locations around the downtown, the Financial District and Soma areas. This well-reviewed restaurant has received a lot of buzz from local and national media, so it is hard to believe that it is located on a nondescript street in the Richmond District, far from the lights of downtown.
