Restaurante at The Mssion neighborhood, San Fracnsico, California.
Probably one of the best neighborhoods of San Francisco to get some cheap eats. Of course you can spend as much or as little as you like, from the top notch sushi at Blowfish to a burrito at one of the seemingly infinite number of Taquerias that abound in the area. We will be getting to some of these in future reviews, however for this week we would like to focus on a tiny Mediterranean café called Truly Mediterranean.
Located on 16th street and Valencia, next to the Roxie theater, it is easy to missif you are not looking for it. While there are very few counter seats, the food is not only excellent, but inexpensive. Stop by and pick up some top notch hummus, Falafel or my favorite, a lamb Shawarma (Spicy with Feta) and walk a couple of blocks to Dolores Park and relax on the grass and enjoy your meal and some quality people watching.
If you still have a little room left you have multiple cocktail options or wander over to Bi-Rite Creamery and grab a scoop of ice cream to round out your meal.
For under $10 this is an excellent meal at a minimal price and is one of our top recommendations in the Mission.
