Blowfish

A little off the beaten path but definitely worth the trip, Blowfish has been one of my favorite restaurants in San Francisco and has something for everyone. It's perfect for a first date, a date night or a meal with a group of friends. Even those who are not fans off raw fish will find meals to fit their taste.

The atmosphere at the restaurant is unique and inviting and is always bustling with a hip crowd, upbeat music and some racy anime videos depicting everything from epic superhero battles to weird animated sex scenes just to keep everything interesting.

First of all, a reservation s highly recommended, as this is a hip restaurant with a loyal clientele and is always bustling on the weekends. When you arrive, there is a unique selection of cocktails featuring premium imported sakes and numerous other libations that should get you started. Make sure to have a look at the unique fusion appetizer menu with your drink, like the standard miso soup or something a little more unique such as the Ostrich Portabello.

While you wait for your entree (Blowfish menu here), which may include standard sushi offerings, unique combinations of rolls or excellent entrees of sea bass or skirt steak, have a look around and definitely check out one of the nearby screens featuring some Japanese animation. Of course after dinner, hopefully you saved some room for the Bon Bon beignet or the Kyo-style green tea cheesecake.

As one of the most unique Sushi restaurants around, Blowfish Sushi is a must try. Just remember to plan ahead and make a reservation.
