ChowChow
is one of the best eating options for those of us who live in the Church and Market area, and is a neighborhood classic that's been around for 12 years. The restaurant on Church Street (there are three others: one on 9th Avenue, one in Lafayette and another in Danville) is right in front of another of our favorite restaurants, Crepevine. However, I will say that Chow is a step above Crepevine in terms of quality; you'll also notice this difference in your wallet.
You usually only have to wait about five minutes to be seated if you arrive without a reservation (given the size of the restaurant, turnover is high). It's open from breakfast to dinner and on weekends brunch is served.
Chow offers quality organic food at reasonable prices. The menu offers a variety of unpretentious food: noodles, pasta, pizza, salads, or sandwiches. For those who love fish, there is always a special of the day, and for those who don't, I recommend the pork chop. Without a doubt, your dessert choice should be the hot ginger tart with caramel, cream and squash ice cream. In my modest opinion, the best dessert in San Francisco.
