Morning Due Cafe
Although there are a lot of places to enjoy a cofee or simple meal in the Mission, Morning Due Cafe stands out for its decor, ambience, and good, simple meals. And even though I've eaten here but have never stopped in for a coffee, I am assured that the coffee is excellent, too.
Morning Due is both a cafe with a full menu of coffees and teas, all reasonably priced, and there is also a simple breakfast and lunch menu. I always appreciate being able to order breakfast at any time of the day, and their omelette and benedict dishes are excellent (I especially like the Eggs Florentine. Popeye would approve). The meal is complete with hearty portions, along with crispy country potatoes and a cup of fresh fruit. There are also baked goods if you'd like to enjoy a muffin or croissant with your capuccino.
The ambience is quiet and relaxed, a welcome respite from some other cafes in the Mission that are noisy and all about seeing and being seen. Morning Due has the feel of a comfy living room, with big, comfortable chairs, and a worn-in, though not shabby, decor. If you want to step into a peaceful refuge in the Mission for coffee or lunch, you can't go wrong with Morning Due Cafe.
